Enrollment at Monsters University kicks off at Hong Kong Disneyland this Summer

(Hong Kong, June 13, 2013) This summer, Hong Kong Disneyland is set to bring more fun and magical experiences to its guests. Celebrating the upcoming Hong Kong theatrical release of the highly anticipated Disney‧Pixar 3D animation “Monsters University,” Hong Kong Disneyland will bring guests a flavor of campus life at Monsters University from June 13 to September 1, 2013. 
A prequel to the beloved “Monsters Inc.” and hitting Hong Kong theaters on July 11, 2013 onwards, Disney Pixar’s “Monsters University” tells the story of how the inseparable scaring duo of Mike and Sulley came to be, tracing their story back to their university days. By visiting the Park and registering for personalized Student Cards, guests will feel like they have returned to University life – only this time it is at Monsters University! In addition to having their own Student Cards, guests can also meet and greet two Monsters scarer want to be’s -- Mike and Sulley. Along with a series of Monsters University merchandise and “monsterized” summer menus and beverages, guests will surely be able to experience some monster-style campus fun whilst embarking on an unforgettable summer filled with adventure and excitement!
Monsters University at Hong Kong Disneyland is taking enrollments now!
Once guests enter the Park, they should go directly to the Monsters University Administration Building at Main Street U.S.A. to obtain their very own Monsters University Student Cards. Simply by inserting their park tickets or Magic Access Membership Cards into the Monsters University Student ID Booth, guests can have their scary Student Photos taken. Once guests have finished exploring the Monsters University Administration building, they can proceed to Town Square Photo to select their favorite of four Monsters University-themed designs[1] to collect their personalized Monsters University Student Card[2]. Guests can even login to the official website of Hong Kong Disneyland with their student card number to have their Monsters University Graduate Certificate printed.
Want some secret tips to becoming a successful Scarer? Simply download the free “Let’s Animate” app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to access helpful Monsters training tips when scanning the posters with the device camera at the Monsters University Administration Building. Everyone’s favorite “scarers in training” – Mike and Sulley will also be waiting to meet with potential scarers outside the Administration Building for the first time!
Limited edition Monsters University Student Card Package and merchandise prepares everyone for school again
Top Scare School students should be equipped with not only their own student card – but also the gear required for everyday school life. Be among the first to purchase the limited edition Monsters University Student Card Package from Town Square Photo or Starliner Diner! The HK$238 package includes a student card, a Monsters University exclusive meal package and meal box, a Mike drink coaster, and a Monsters lanyard complete with ID pouch. For all the Monsters fans, the Park has also launched over 100 elite Monsters University merchandise items, such as backpacks, accessories, pins, tees, plush toys, etc.
New “Monsterized” School Program
There’s no time for holidays because it’s time for school! In addition to joining the Art Club’s Mike drawing lesson at Animation Academy, guests can try their culinary skills at the Monsters University Chef Lecture[3] held at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. Adult and child participants will put on their all new and Monsters University aprons and chef hats and enjoy the experience of putting their imagination in action to create their own tale home, Mike and Sulley cupcakes. They will be the envy of friends and monsters alike!
New monsterized menus and beverages to cool the summer heat
Monster-style campus life isn’t complete without food and drinks to fuel all Monsters in training! This summer, the Park will be offering over 15 brand new themed snacks and thirst quenchers throughout the entire resort to keep guests’ Monsters hunger at bay. New items on menus include the blinking Mike Cotton Candy – available with or without light, the scarily cute Mike Bun, and over 10 thirst quenchers, including the fun-filled Staring Mike, Sulley’s Rainbow and the fruity Blink Blink Eye, to name just a few.
On top of the many new food and beverage offerings in the Park, more summer delicacies are available at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, including the new “Chicken Little” Steamed Longevity Lotus Seed Puree Birthday Bun available on the Birthday Dinner menu at Crystal Lotus. For other deliciously healthy options, try the new Walt’s Garden menu available at Walt’s Café – there are so many delicious new offerings it will take a monstrous effort just to decide on which to try first!
Once guests have experienced life as a fellow Monsters University student, more fun awaits at the brand new themed areas of Mystic Point, Grizzly Gulch and Toy Story Land! Following Mystic Point’s opening on May 17, the Park’s three new themed areas of the expansion are all now officially open and have effectively increased the Park’s overall footprint by 25 percent, offering guests over 100 attractions, entertainment experiences and shows to indulge in. These latest themed areas provide guests and their loved ones a vast array of new experiences and entertainment that appeal to everyone’s preference, ensuring an unforgettable summer holiday together.
